Senior Ravens back on the gridiron

Senior Ravens back on the gridiron

After a nearly 10-year absence, senior football returns to Chippewa Secondary School this fall.

In a post on social media, officials announced the Ravens Flight Campaign was a success.

The fundraising campaign was launched eight months ago, to raise $60,000 and equip a senior team after the junior program was revived two and a half years ago.

Details on their new uniforms have also been released.

They’re all black with wings on the shoulders, red numbers with yellow-trim and ‘Ravens’ in yellow.

Players will also be wearing SpeedFlex Echo helmets, which officials say are among the best-protected helmets available at the high school level.

They say player safety was the first line item in this campaign, not the last.
