Stolen ATV and snowmachine recovered by OPP

A 35-year-old Papineau-Cameron Township resident is facing multiple charges after an OPP investigation that started with an ATV failing to stop for police.

On Monday, July 20, at approximately 2:00 p.m., provincial police say officers attempted to stop an ATV on Richards Road in the township.

They say the driver failed to stop and continued on, before the ATV was located a short time later on Gravelle Road and the driver arrested.

The OPP says the investigation determined the ATV had been reported stolen from Quebec.

Officers also located a snowmobile that had been reported stolen earlier this year.

Nine charges were filed including flight from police and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused was held for a bail hearing in North Bay.
