Street Crime Unit Investigation $197,000 in Illicit Drugs Seized

The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Street Crime Unit (SCU) investigation has resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of more than $197,000 worth of illicit drugs after search warrants were executed at a residence on Marshall Park Drive in North Bay and a residence on Third Avenue in Coniston, with assistance from the Greater Sudbury Police Service.

"Our Street Crime Unit played a critical role in this investigation, disrupting a significant supply of illicit drugs moving through multiple jurisdictions," said Inspector McFarlane. "We are grateful to our partners at the Greater Sudbury Police Service for their assistance and collaboration, which was instrumental in achieving this successful outcome. Together, we remain committed to protecting our communities by targeting those who profit from the drug trade."

The first co-accused, Tyler HUGHES, 32-year-old male of North Bay, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs (MDMA)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

The second co-accused, Eli SAVORD, 41-year-old male of Coniston, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Four Counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Four Counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing
  • Traffick in Schedule I Substance - Cocaine

The third co-accused, Dextra SAVORD, 32-year-old female of Coniston, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Four Counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Four Counts of Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing

Subsequent search led to the seizure of the following items:

  • Controlled substances including:
    • 573 grams Cocaine (total street value $57,410)
    • 427 grams MDMA (total street value $58,974)
    • 4 grams Crystal Methamphetamine (total street value $160)
    • 7,365 grams Illicit Cannabis (total street value $73,651)
    • 686 grams Hash (total street value $6,860)
  • Qty 4 Rolex Watches – estimated value exceeding $100,000
  • Qty 1 Audemars Piguet Watch – estimated value exceeding $80,000
  • $37,589 in Canadian Currency
  • 2013 Subaru

The NBPS would like to thank our policing partners with the GSPS Drug Enforcement Unit, Emergency Response Unit, Canine Unit, and Break, Enter, and Robbery Unit for their assistance in this investigation.

The first co-accused was arrested by NBPS and held in custody pending a bail hearing. The second and third co-accused were arrested by GSPS and released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
