Successful McHappy Day
Supports Youth and Families in Our Community
Our community is celebrating the success and impact of McHappy Day! More than $21,000 was raised, supporting three worthy charities; One Kids Place (OKP) Children’s Treatment Centre, North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Shiv Randhawa, who assumed ownership of McDonald’s North Bay and Sturgeon Falls in 2025 was inspired by the support of the community. “McHappy Day was a meaningful opportunity for me and our staff to connect with volunteers and community members while having an impact on three incredible charities. It was a day filled with energy and generosity that engaged more than 100 volunteers. I am grateful to be a part of the impact the day will have on children and families in our area,” he shared.

“This year, McHappy Day is supporting our Youth Mental Health Fund. This fund is providing resources to programs that will be impactful and respond to the immediate needs for mental health care for youth – CAP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry). These services are growing to meet the needs of our youth population and ensure we can respond to with appropriate care – whether it be inpatient care or outpatient clinics,” shared Kelly Smirle, Manager.
“Thanks to this generous donation from McDonald’s, One Kids Place will be able to support young children showing early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder with our Early Intervention Services. This specialized therapy uses relationship-based, play-centered intervention that fosters motivation, attention, and learning, helping each child reach their fullest potential during this critical stage of development.” said Katharine Strang, Director of Development and Community Relations, One Kids Place.
One Kids Place and NBRHC Foundation are grateful to be included in the McHappy Day initiative and thank Shiv Randhawa, the staff at McDonald’s and all the volunteers from McHappy Day. The community support has grown each year, and they congratulate them on their ongoing success and their commitment to our community and our youth.
