Suspected drugs and vehicle seized after traffic stop

Two men from Brampton are facing charges in North Bay after city police stopped a vehicle on Canada Day.
The North Bay Police Service says an ongoing Street Crimes Unit investigation led to the traffic stop, with subsequent searches resulting in over $15,000 in suspected cocaine and a 2013 Lexus vehicle being seized.
Charges include drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
“This investigation is another that highlights the dedication and effectiveness of our Street Crime Unit in identifying and disrupting the flow of illegal drugs into our community,” says Inspector Scott McFarlane. “The North Bay Police Service has an excellent working relationship with our policing partners, particularly the OPP, which leads to successful outcomes, as demonstrated again in this instance.”
Both accused were arrested and held for a bail hearing.
