Aunt and Great Aunt to many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Marlene followed her calling and graduated from nurse's training at the Stratford Loretto Academy in 1960. A highly regarded and dedicated nurse, she gave her life to the care of others for over 50 years in Stratford, Kitchener, and North Bay. She is always putting the welfare of others before her own. A trait not lost on those blessed enough to cross her path.
Marlene lived her life as a true woman of character, a woman of faith and devotion to church and service. She will be missed by all who she touched.
As a lifelong rescuer of four-legged furry friends, it is only fitting that Marlene's memory can be honoured, if desired, by the North Bay Humane Society.
We will be forever thankful to Dr Locke, Dr Leckie, and the nurses at NBRHC A3/C1 for their care in Mom's final days, treating her with the respect and dignity she deserved. A special thank you to the staff and friends at Barclay House for always going above and beyond. We will miss seeing your welcoming smiles.
As Marlene wished, a graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford, Ontario, later this year.
"I'd stay in the garden with Him,
Though the night around me is falling, But he bids me to go; through the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling".
Until we meet again.
xoxo
