The Judge’s are Coming

Help North Bay Shine
Clean, Green, Beautiful (CGB) and the City of North Bay are pleased to welcome national judges from Communities in Bloom (CiB), Karen Stephenson and Tina Liu to our city from July 22nd to July 24th. The judges will embark on a tour of North Bay, evaluating our achievements in six categories: Community Appearance, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Tree Management, Landscape, and Plant and Floral Displays.
Communities in Bloom evaluations provide a prestigious opportunity for North Bay to display the dedication of its residents, businesses and institutions to creating a strong, resilient and environmentally conscious community. Everyone is encouraged to participate by keeping their clean, green, and beautiful, and take part in this year’s theme by adding edible plants to your garden.

"The community has been incredible, and we are excited to welcome the judges to our city," said Hariett Madigan, CGB Chair. "We are asking for everyone to do their part to make North Bay clean, green, and beautiful."

What You Can Do to Get Ready:
1. Beautify Your Space: Ensure your property, including lawns, sidewalks, and public spaces, are clean and well-maintained.
2. Clean and Tidy: Participate in a CGB clean-up and order bags to help keep North Bay clean, green, and beautiful
3. Showcase Heritage: Maintain heritage buildings, monuments, memorials, cemeteries etc.
4. Promote Environmental Actions: Demonstrate sustainable practices such as recycling, composting, and water conservation.
5. Tree Care: Ensure trees on your property are healthy, pruned, and well-maintained.
6. Enhance Landscaping: Consider adding new plants or features to your landscape to enhance its appearance. Try contributing to the 2025 CiB theme by planting edible species.
This is also a great way to prepare for Streetscapes, our program that celebrates beautiful gardens in the city. This year we have 6 categories, so every garden has a place where they can be nominated:
· Overall Curb Appeal
· Edible Garden
· O’Natural Garden
· Balcony or Small-Space Garden
· Street Recognition
· Business Streetscape
You can nominate yourself, a neighbour, or a business on our website cleangreenbeautiful.com/streetscapes. Nominations are being accepted until July 31st so enter as soon as you can.
The committee requests anyone with sandwich boards, marquees, digital advertising signs, or window space to post a "Welcome CiB Judges" message between July 22nd-24th.
We are extremely proud of North Bay’s achievements this year and we are honoured to showcase the amount of community pride and unity within our city.
