Three charged after ‘targeted assault’ at local restaurant

Three people are facing charges after an assault at a local restaurant.

City police say on July 10th around 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a reported assault at a business in the area of Algonquin and Shirreff Ave.

Police say one person was transported to hospitals, with investigators determining the incident was a targeted one.

Three suspects were then identified and arrested.

A 41-year-old and a 25-year-old from North Bay both were charged with assault, while a 30-year-old was charged with conspiracy to commit indictable offence.

“Violence like this will not be tolerated in our community,” said A/Deputy Chief Jeff Warner. “I want to recognize the work of our Patrol Section in responding quickly, identifying the accused individuals, and taking action to hold them accountable. Through their dedication, these individuals have been brought before the courts.”

The accused were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
