Trappers win opener at Central Region Championship

The North Bay U18 Trappers won their opening game at the Central Region championship 4-3 in overtime over Markham.

Cedar Montreuil scored twice, including the game winner. Next up, the Trappers play the Toronto Titans (3:30 pm) Tuesday afternoon.

At the OHL Cup, Team NOHA lost 5-2 to the Vaughan Kings on Monday night.

They play Upper Canada College (11:30 am) and the Quinte Red Devils (7 pm) on Tuesday.

Four North Bay U16 AAA Trappers are on the team.

Still with local sports, Team Riley Winters lost 4-2 to Alberta on Monday at the U20 Canadian curling championship in Sudbury.

They play Manitoba (10 am) and BC (6 pm) on Tuesday.
