Two drivers charged after single vehicle crash
North Bay OPP have charged two drivers from Bonfield Township after an incident involving one vehicle.
Provincial police say on Saturday, Jan. 3, at approximately 4:20 pm, officers and emergency crews responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a snowbank on Highway 17 near Bayview Road in the City of North Bay.
During the investigation, the OPP says officers learned the driver and passenger switched places after the crash and continued driving eastbound on Highway 17.
They say the vehicle was located on Highway 531 in Bonfield, with two people arrested and charged with impaired by drug.
One person was also charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand and two counts of operation while prohibited under the criminal code.
Both were released from custody with February court appearances and 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspensions.
The vehicle was also impounded for 45 days.
