The city says all roads closed after Tuesday’s weather event and flooding of Chippewa Creek are back open, except for Duke Street between Wyld and Fisher streets.

Officials say it remains closed Wednesday morning to allow for sand and debris removal.

Nipissing-Parry Sound Student Transportation Services says school buses are cancelled in several areas around North Bay, including the city, Callander, Redbridge/Thorne, north to Temagami, and east to Bonfield.  On Tuesday, officials said road conditions because of flooding and washouts were the cause of some route cancellations.

The city also says while Chippewa Street is open, motorists should be aware that sand remains on the roadway.

Crews will be conducting cleanup across all affected areas over the coming days.

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to proceed with caution in these areas and be mindful of City crews as cleanup operations get underway.

Lee’s Road has been closed to local traffic only due to some damage from Tuesday’s flooding, but is expected to reopen later Wednesday morning with flaggers in place.

Memorial Drive, which was closed by the Wastewater Treatment plant on Tuesday, was reopened that evening.

The North Bay Battalion announced Tuesday night’s game has been postponed because of the flooding, with the OHL announcing it has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 6 pm.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is advising residents in Mattawan, East Mills, Wilson, and McConkey Townships as well as Ellesmere Village that a Flood Warning bulletin is in effect until next Tuesday (April 21).

Officials say there is flooding in some areas with the possibility of flooding in other areas in the coming days.

A flood watch is in effect for the rest of the North Bay MNR District.
