Volleyball tournament rallying support for The Gathering Place
A local volleyball tournament is looking to ‘spike’ hunger.
The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board’s fourth biannual charity mixed volleyball tournament is supporting The Gathering Place.
Proceeds from the two-day tournament will directly support meal programs, serving individuals and families in need in the area.
Officials say since its inception, the event has raised more than $7,600 for The Gathering Place.
Games on Friday are being played at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, with games on Saturday also being played at Mother St. Bride and St. Luke Catholic Elementary schools.
