VooDoo's Sign Three

The Powassan Voodoos stayed close to home adding a pair to forwards and then made a trek down highway 17 to add a talented offensive defender.
All three played in the Great North U18 League last season where they put up solid numbers.
Owen Head had a solid season last year with the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers coached by former Voodoos assistant coach Josh Dale.
In 29 games, the Nipissing First Nation product netted 10 goals and 21 assists totalling 31 points.
“I’m just working hard to get ready for my rookie season and it is going to be a good one,” said Head, who was free agent invite to the Battalion orientation camp in May.
Voodoos head coach Peter Goulet believes Head plays the game much like hard working Voodoos captain Justin Rousseau.
“Owen Head is a tremendous hockey player,” said Goulet.
“He’s capable of playing in all situations who works hard every shift and competes as hard as anybody game in game out.”

The Voodoos also inked 2007 birth year forward Tyler Brunet from the Trappers program.
In 28 games the power forward netted 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points.
“I’m going to be in the gym and at the track putting in the work,” said Brunet about preparing for the 2025-26 season.
Goulet believes Brunet plays the game tough.
“Tyler Brunet is a big physical winger with a solid skill set we are expecting Tyler to play hard finish checks and give us some secondary scoring,” said Goulet.
The Voodoos added some offense to their back end by signing talented Soo U18 AAA Greyhounds defenceman Dylan Rousselle.
In 32 games last season, Rousselle netted 14 goals and 29 assists for 43 points.
“I am offensive minded but I take care of the defensive end and I feel like I bring high energy and I am a good leader,” the Blind River product stated.
Rousselle was also a free agent invite at the Battalion Orientation Camp in May. Goulet believes Rousselle stood out at that camp and should bring a different offensive element to the Voodoos blueline in 2025-26. “Dylan Rousselle is a tremendous young Dman with a ton of talent,” said Goulet.
“He reminds me of a defenceman I coached with the Nepean Raiders, Ryan Johnston. This is big shoes to fill for a young defenseman, but the comparisons in the two are very similar.”
Head, Brunet and Rousselle will all be in North Bay on July 5 and 6 for Voodoos summer prospects camp taking place at Pete Palangio Arena.
