Walk for Hope

Your Health, Your Power – Steps for Change
This October, the community is invited to come together in strength, solidarity, and support at the Nurse Next Door Walk for Hope—a powerful event focused on breast cancer awareness, early detection, and raising funds for life-saving care.
Breast cancer touches thousands of lives every year, but with early detection and better tools, survival rates increase dramatically. This year’s Walk for Hope is dedicated to empowering men and women through education and action, with a fundraising goal to support the purchase of AI-powered mammography software—a cutting-edge tool that enhances early detection, reduces false positives, and delivers faster, more accurate results for the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
“Your health is your superpower—and that includes your breast health,” says the Walk for Hope organizing team. “Every step taken at this event represents strength, solidarity, and support for those affected by breast cancer.”
This year’s fundraising goal is to support the purchase of AI-powered mammography software for the North Bay Regional Health Centre. This advanced technology enhances early detection, improves diagnostic accuracy, reduces false positives, and delivers faster results—ultimately saving more lives across our region.
The Nurse Next Door Walk for Hope is a meaningful way for individuals and families to get involved, whether walking in honour of a loved one, supporting local healthcare innovation, or simply making a difference. Every step taken on October 18 represents hope, healing, and the promise of better outcomes for those facing breast cancer.
“This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. We sincerely thank Eagle Tree, North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA), and The Bay and Area Advertiser for their outstanding commitment to community health and wellness. Your partnership is helping us bring meaningful change to the lives of many”, says the Walk for Hope organizing team.
Participants can sign up individually, start a team, or donate online. Even if you can’t attend, spreading awareness about early detection is a powerful way to contribute. Together, we can make a difference—because every step matters.
Join us on Saturday, October 18 at 10 am at Lee Park, and help turn awareness into action. Walk for those we’ve lost. Walk for those still fighting. Walk for the future.
