WARDELL, Richard James
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Richard James Wardell (February 11, 1957- January 12, 2026) who left us at the age of 68 years after a hard battle with Cancer.
Rick’s priority was his family whom he cherished. Rick is survived by his wife Edna Wardell (Boughner), son Ricky Wardell and daughter Cheryl Wardell. He will be missed deeply by his grandchildren Addalyn and Caleb Tremblay, whom he was so proud of and loved wholeheartedly.
Rick is predeceased by his cherished sister Sheila (Letourneau) Wardell and is survived by his parents Edgar and Theresa Wardell, sisters Jeanette (Dave) Dickerson, Joanne (George) Boughner, Susan (Chris) Hughes and brother Joe Wardell.
Rick was known for his strong respect and generosity towards others. Rick's absence will be deeply felt by his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as the many friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and loyalty.
Rick’s first job was Hydro One (Ontario Hydro) at the age of 18 and spent some time in BC tree logging, returning to Hydro, Rick retired after 37 years as a lineman.
Rick had a strong passion for the outdoors and carpentry, building two of his family’s homes, if he could think it and dream it, it was done.
As per Rick’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced in the spring. If desired, donations can be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
Thank you to all of the incredible nurses, PSW’s, Doctors, maintenance, chef and volunteer staff for your incredible support to Rick and his family during his time with you.
