City Launches Neighbourhood Off-Leash Dog Areas

City Launches Neighbourhood Off-Leash Dog Areas
Imagine Credit - City of North Bay

North Bay dog owners now have new places for their dogs to run, play, and socialize as the City launches a pilot project designating four outdoor rink locations as off-leash dog areas.

The initiative comes in response to feedback from residents requesting more accessible off-leash spaces in different areas of the city.

The trial locations include Sage Park, Kinette Playground, Greenhill Park, and Police Playground. These temporary locations are in addition to planned enhancements this spring at the Bruman Community Dog Park.

Rink boards at each location have been gated to help create safe, enclosed spaces for dogs and owners throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Signage outlining park rules and responsible use requirements is posted, and dog waste bag stations are available on site.

The pilot project will help the City evaluate community interest and usage of neighbourhood off-leash spaces across North Bay.
