City woman wins just over $89,000
Cathy P. of North Bay is celebrating a lotto win.
She won the LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth just over $89,000 in the May 16 draw.
The 72-year-old says she’s been playing the lottery with OLG for almost 50 years and discovered she’d won this prize on her birthday.

“It still hasn’t sunk in,” says Cathy. “I’m considering putting some of this win toward a vacation out east with my sister.”
She told the OLG Price Centre in Toronto she said she couldn’t believe she’d won.
“After checking my ticket, I brought it to my husband and said, ‘I think I’m a winner!’ He double-checked it on his phone, and then I called my sister to tell her I won big,” says Cathy. “When I shared the news with the rest of my family, everyone was very excited.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Esso/On the Run on Algonquin Avenue in North Bay.
