Community Garden Hub Cleaning Blitz Kicks Off

Spring Season in North Bay and volunteers RE invited to prepare shared garden space and attend free pruning workshop on May 2

To kick off the growing season, Clean Green Beautiful (CGB) is hosting a Community Garden Hub Cleaning Blitz on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 580 Algonquin Street.

Community members of all skill levels are encouraged to drop in and lend a hand in preparing the garden for planting. Volunteers will assist with tasks such as raking, weeding, pruning, and general garden clean-up. This collaborative effort helps maintain a welcoming space where people can connect, learn about gardening, and explore topics like food safety and sustainability.

As part of the day’s activities, a free pruning workshop will be offered from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Spaces for the workshop are limited, and advance registration is required. “This garden is more than just a place to grow food—it’s a space where people come together to learn, share, and build community,” says Brittney Fortin, Program Lead for Clean Green Beautiful.
