Flood warnings extended to Tuesday in several areas of the district
Flood warnings from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority have been extended to Tuesday in several areas of the district.
They include the Lake Nipissing shoreline in North Bay and Callander, La Vase River downstream of Lakeshore Dr, Parks Creek, the Mattawa River downstream of Hurdman Dam, the Upper Ottawa River between Lake Timiskaming and the east boundary of Papineau-Cameron Township, including the Town of Mattawa, and the Lake Temagami area.
The Conservation Authority says total precipitation from March 1 to April 15 is at 50-year highs.

Precipitation in March was 200% of normal while it was 253% of normal in April.
The MNR says the average water level on Lake Nipissing continues to exceed the maximum “non-damage” level.
They add levels remaining elevated but stable, with inflows gradually decreasing throughout the week.
Water levels in Mattawa are forecasted to remain below the major flood level.
Officials continue to advise residents to monitor conditions and prepare accordingly.
