Local Sea Cadets to Host an Open House for the North Bay Community
Department of National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces invite members of the public to attend Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Brilliant’s open house on September 9th, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Martin Leo Troy Armoury located at 540 Chippewa St. West
Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Brilliant’s Fall Open House is an excellent opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the program, meet staff and volunteers, and get a firsthand look at the activities, opportunities, and experiences that make Sea Cadets a rewarding program for local youth through observing demonstrations, informational static displays, and participating in hands-on activities.

The Cadet Program is open to all youth between the ages of 12-18 years old and develops confident, self-sufficient leaders who form lasting friendships and are engaged in their communities while promoting physical fitness, healthy living and fostering an interest in the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces. Sea cadets also learn about seamanship, sailing, and traditions of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Adults are also needed to help train, administer, and supervise the local youth involved in the Cadet Program. Becoming part of the Cadet Program is easier than you may think, it is a lot of fun, and the skills you learn are likely transferable to your regular employment.
No previous military or cadet experience is needed.
