Lockton Farms hosting Mother’s Day Open House
If you’re looking for something unique, peaceful and involves horses for Mother’s Day, Lockton Farms is hosting an open house.
They’ll be highlighting Project New Start, a one-year horse-human healing initiative being filmed in real time.
Paige Lockton, former international equestrian and founder of founder of The Magic of Horsecraft™, who is now living with stage four metastatic breast cancer, says the program is designed to help people slow down, reconnect, and spend meaningful time together in the presence of horses.
“This is about horses,” she says. “But it’s also about trauma, healing, and what becomes possible when we rethink how we relate to each other.”
The Open House takes place Sunday, May 10 (9 AM to 5 PM) at Lockton Farms, located at 310 Hwy 654 West, in Callander.
Guests are invited to book a 30-minute guided tour in groups of up to seven people. Bookings are being accepted online at this link.
“People sometimes assume mothers want to be left alone on Mother’s Day,” she says. “But what many mothers truly crave is peaceful, meaningful connection with the people they love. That’s what we’re creating here.”
Lockton says the event is pay-what-you-can, with donations accepted at the gate in support of Project New Start.
She adds visitors will have the opportunity to meet the horses, walk through the barnyard, and learn about heart–brain coherence, nervous system regulation, and the profound ways horses respond to human energy, intention, and emotional state.
