PAUL JAMES DOBLE TRUSSLER

Family and close friends are mourning the loss of PAUL JAMES DOBLE TRUSSLER who recently passed away at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice where he was surrounded with exceptional & loving care during his final days.   

Paul with his determination dealt with his many health issues during his final years, succumbing finally to cancer.

He was born February 10,1933 and passed away on September 11, 2026.

Paul attended NBCI&VS and then went on to McGill University where he graduated from the School of Architecture in 1955.  This was followed by a year in the MBA program at the University of Western Ontario. 

His greatest legacy will be his partnership in the architectural firm Critchley, Delean, Trussler, Evans, Bertrand and Hill, spending his entire career in a firm that became known across Northern Ontario for creating institutional architecture of quality including most recently the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Paul also designed many fine residences in the North Bay area. 

Paul's eclectic personality was reflected in his appreciation of the arts which included music and painting. He was also an accomplished pianist and likewise an expert skier and instructor.

Paul was predeceased by his father and mother, Hartley and Margaret Trussler, as well as his brother Jack Trussler (Anne deceased). He is survived by brothers David (Wanda deceased) Whistler B.C., and Peter (Arlene) Almonte On, as well as his sister Mary Jane (John Marshall) Bracebridge On.

Paul is also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, as well as his treasured friends who were so very good to him during his final years.

He will be dearly missed my all who loved him.

Celebration of Life to be held at the North Bay Golf and Country Club, Monday, October 5th at 5pm. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
