Weekend of activities planned with WFCU Place opening
The city’s new Community and Recreation Centre opens on Aug. 21, and you’re invited.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for WFCU Place is scheduled for 11 am, followed by an open house and free activities throughout the weekend.
Officials say it’s a chance to see the new facility, take a tour and learn more about what it will offer.

“Opening this new facility is an exciting milestone for North Bay,” says Mayor Peter Chirico. “We invite everyone to come out, see the new space for themselves, and help us celebrate this investment in recreation and our community.”
The weekend will include:
– Public and family skating
– Shinny hockey
– Fitness and drop-in activities
– Family activities
– An outdoor family movie night
– Demonstrations, practices, and games from local sports and community groups
Registration is not required and again all activities are free.
