In Loving Memory of Yvonne Marie Louise Bastarache- Howe (Levesque)

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Yvonne on May 24, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family.

Yvonne was born in Timmins and her family relocated to North Bay, a community she always held close to her heart. She was a permanent resident of Oshawa, where she spent cherished time with family and friends. Yvonne enjoyed attending dances at the Navy Club and bingo at the local Red Barn.

Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry Howe; her parents, Laurent and Cécile Bastarache; and her brother, René Bastarache.

She is fondly remembered by her daughter, Lori (Gerry); her son, Richard (Tina); and Larry’s son Todd.  Yvonne also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kyle (Danielle), Michael (Dakota), Sarah (Justin), April, Keedryn, Kierstyn, and Aidan. As well as her eight great-grandchildren Nixxon, Kadyn, Zayvion, Dani, Hailey, Jaxon, Myles, and Madison. She will be missed by her loving sister Irene and her brother, Steve(Sue).

Yvonne devoted her life to helping others learn and grow through her work as a dedicated Core French teacher. She was a proud graduate of Nipissing University Teachers’ College, completing the program while raising two children as a single mother.

She will also be remembered for her intelligence, caring nature, and genuine interest in the people around her. Yvonne touched many lives over the years, both inside and outside the classroom, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the healthcare professionals at Lakeridge Health Oshawa within the ER, CCU section #3 and the ICU. They provided compassionate care and support during Yvonne’s final days.
