City crews installing sidewalk improvements along McIntyre

By Richard Coffin

Sidewalk accessibility improvements are underway on McIntyre Street.

The city says crews are installing tactile walking surface indicator panels at intersections to help people with visual impairments identify the edge of sidewalks and approaching roadways.

Work started on one side of McIntyre, at John Street and is proceeding to Cassells, then returns on the opposite side.

It’s expected to take up to a week and a half and includes intersections at John, Regina, Fisher, Sherbrooke, Ferguson, and Cassells.

Officials say McIntyre Street will remain open, but drivers may experience minor delays due to intermittent lane closures.
