City police ERT training at Memorial Gardens

Don’t be alarmed if you see an increased police presence at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens on Chippewa Street.

That from the North Bay Police Service, which says the Emergency Response Team is taking part in a training exercise at the arena on Tuesday (May 26).

Officials say the public may see officers in tactical gear, police vehicles, or drones operating nearby.

“The training exercise is not expected to result in any road closures or disruptions to daily activities,” states a release.

Police add the area will be clearly marked; however, residents are asked to use caution when near emergency vehicles and personnel.

The Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable, and high-risk situations.
