Hilton Middlebrook

Hilton Middlebrook passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Cassellholme on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Hilton was the cherished husband of Deloris Middlebrook (née Zoldy) and the proud father of Donna Forget (Glenn Cousineau) and the late Cathy Burns (Jim). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Samantha Burns (Nick Hayes), Joseph Forget, Jessica Burns, Justin Forget (Nicole Fisher), and Ryan Burns (Aylana Serson), as well as his seven great-grandchildren: Aiden Leeman, Owen Forget, Sheldon Forget, Cooper Hayes, Parker Hayes, Payton Forget, and Elijah Forget.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Wayne (Ruth), Gary (Pat), Nellie Hunter (Paul), and Barbara, as well as his sisters-in-law Gladys, June, and Cindy. Hilton was predeceased by his brothers Nevile Kenneth, Abe, George Ralph, and Henry.

Born and raised in Northern Ontario, Hilton possessed an adventurous spirit that took him west, where he joined the military in 1957, beginning many years of travel and adventure around the world. He later spent more than ten years working as a gold miner in Dawson City, Yukon, before returning to Northern Ontario, where he settled and spent the last 30 years of his life.

Hilton will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of family, and the many stories and memories he created throughout his remarkable life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

As per Hilton’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

The family will receive visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
