YMCA setting its ‘Foundations for the Future’
The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is mapping its future over the next few years.
Officials launched the Y’s 2026–28 Strategic Plan, titled ‘Foundations for the Future’ on Thursday.
It focuses on increasing access to programs and services, strengthening support for youth and families, advancing health and wellness opportunities, and building stronger, more connected communities.

The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario says it served more than 33,400 people across the region last year.
With this new plan, they’re looking to welcome an additional 3,000 individuals and families by 2028.
“Our new strategic plan reflects who we are as an organization and where our communities need us most,” says Lorrie Turnbull, regional President and CEO. “As the needs of Northeastern Ontario continue to evolve, the YMCA remains committed to creating opportunities for people to belong, grow, and reach their full potential. Foundations for the Future is about building on our strengths while ensuring we are ready to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario includes the locations in North Bay, Sudbury and Timmins.
